LONG WALK

The Aracatiaçu River is one of the region's natural treasures, where you can practically spend the whole day exploring or return to explore in various ways. The best-known attractions are Oyster Island, the Mangrove Tunnel, Snake Lagoon, the Sand Port, and the river mouth, where you can see the river meeting the sea and where Tio Clé's stall is located. There's a lot to do in a hurry, but everyone has their own pace and available time. Negotiate with your boatman where you want to go and see above the photos of some points of this tour.

SHORT RIDE INTEGRATED WITH THE BUGGY TOUR

For those who want a shorter tour, there is the option of doing part of the tour only. Generally, the tour departs from Inaldo's stall, passes through the mangrove tunnel, and may end at Ilha das Ostras (Oyster Island), where your buggy will be waiting to continue the sunset tour, or return to Inaldo's stall. It's important to inform your buggy driver that you wish to include the boat trip, as they will pick you up at your guesthouse 30 minutes beforehand and schedule it with a boatman. The sunset tour usually departs from your guesthouse at 4 PM, and when the boat trip is included, it departs 30 minutes earlier, at 3:30 PM.

Common questions about the Aracatiaçu River Boat Tour

  • The boat tour is guided.

Yes! Our boatmen are native to the region and know all the details and stories of the Aracatiaçu River.

  • Does the tour depend on the tide?

Yes, the tide chart is important! The route through the mangrove swamp (Tunnel of Love) requires a higher water volume. We recommend checking the tide or contacting us to schedule the best time.

  • What should I bring?

Bring sunscreen 🧴, a hat/cap, water 💧, cash/card for purchases on Ilha das Ostras, and insect repellent (especially for the mangrove area).

  • Can I bring children?

Yes, children are welcome! For everyone's safety, the use of life jackets is mandatory for all ages.

  • Does the price include transportation to the pick-up location?

No. The prices are only for the boat trip on the Aracatiaçu River. Transportation to Barra de Moitas or the river mouth is the customer's responsibility.

  • How does boat sharing work?

On a shared tour, you share the boat with other people. Departure is subject to a minimum group size.

  • Can I pay by card at Ilha das Ostras?

Generally yes, but we always recommend carrying cash 💰, as the connection can be unstable in some areas.

  • Is Barra de Moitas safe to leave your car?

Yes, access via Barra de Moitas (Inaldo's stall) is via paved roads and is the most suitable option for those traveling by car.

  • What is access via the mouth of the river?

This is the embarkation point used by those taking the Buggy/4x4 tour, as the final stretch of access is difficult and unpaved.
